About Me

I’m a German diplomatic spouse with 33 years of experience in diplomatic life, and we’ve relocated with our four children 12 times during that period. I’m a fully qualified lawyer (“Volljurist”) who came to Berlin for my legal clerkship at the Berliner Kammergericht (Higher Regional Court) in 1987 when the wall still divided East from West. Later, I studied German as a foreign language and taught at Hood College in the US, as well as Goethe Institutes in Madrid, Brussels and Singapore. I still teach students from my time in Buenos Aires – remotely. I understand the challenges of living abroad as a diplomatic spouse and what diplomats and their families require – not least in language proficiency abroad. I’m passionate about surprising my students, answering any questions they might not normally ask, and exploring together in a fun way.
